Buyer - Skills Required:

1. An accomplished background in a Buying capacity ideally for large blue chip clients
2. Successful negotiation of terms and conditions with a variety of organisations
3. Detailed knowledge of implications of liabilities, indemnities and IPR with a contract
4. Proficient at stakeholder management and communications
5. Ability to prepare and lead negotiations and influence
6. Effective management of suppliers

Desired Skills:

1. Ideally a manufacturing, Engineering or Utilities background (In a Buying capacity)
2. Appreciation of the Network Innovation Allowance

The Role:

The purpose of this role is to support the innovation teams. Acting on behalf of these business areas, the buyer is accountable for ensuring that procurement contracts are in place for new projects with innovation vendors, which are both acceptable for the client from a commercial perspective, and compliant with the Network Innovation Allowance regulations. The successful candidate will be working with the business stakeholders to develop T&C's for new innovation activities and negotiating T&C's with vendors. Discussing contract terms with Legal (internal or external) when contract negotiations appear to need further specialist support will also play an integral part.
