BUYER (SC CLEARED)

Overview:

Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of satellite systems; with business activities covering civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation, science and navigation programmes - together with a complete range of associated ground infrastructure and space equipment.

They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Buyer with good knowledge of supply chain management. The successful candidate must be CIPS qualified and have current SC level clearance.

It is preferred that the position will be based at our client's Farnborough site. However, you would be required to work in Portsmouth for the first 2-3 months of the contract. Alternatively, you could be based in Portsmouth with frequent trips to the Farnborough site.

Responsibilities:

Provide internal client with strategic commodity advice
Issue and manage requests for quotation
Source compliant materials
Manage & control supplier deliverables (time, cost & quality)
Manage the contract fulfilment (issue & track PO`s)
Ensure correct maintenance of SAP data
Extract procurement reports from SAP
Manage supplier's returns & repair process
Resolve invoice queries
Support the clearance of supplier quality/performance issues
Regular reports to customers

Requirements:

Must have previous demonstrable experience of professional purchasing within a technical procurement environment - with experience or exposure of procurement at a strategic level.

CIPS qualified
Good knowledge of Supply Chain Management and sourcing
An experienced negotiator
Experienced user of SAP MM Module
A proficient Microsoft Office user
