PROCUREMENT/SUPPLY CHAIN/BUYER/REDESIGN/MATERIALS/

Our client, a world leader in defence and security is currently recruiting for a Buyer on a 26 week contract, with a high possibility for extension or to go permanent, based in Marlow.

Key deliverables:

Background

- To ensure the effective procurement of materials, components, major work packages and services for the Business Unit.
- To coordinate the procurement activities for designated commodities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESreviewing and issuing purchase orders and making necessary changes to requirements, schedule and price.
- Ensuring that critical purchase orders are communicated to the vendors and are effectively expedited to maintain smooth production operations
- Managing day to day procurement activities including internal and vendor communications; negotiating schedule and delivery changes with vendors; negotiating price changes with vendors, negotiating revised terms and special arrangements with vendors.
- Performing all operations according to appropriate government regulations (FAR, DFAR, ITAR, EAR) and in accordance with standards
- Performing all operations according to prescribed safety, health and environmental (SHE) principles.
- Complying with and deploying management practices relating to SOF, LCM, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Root Cause Problem Solving and Standard Work.

Desirable Criteria:

- DISCLOSURE SCOTLAND
- HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITHIN A TACTICAL PROCUREMENT ENVIRONMENT.
- HAS ENGAGED WITH SUPPLIERS AND SOURCED HIGH LEVEL BUYING.
- HAS PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE ON THE REDESIGN OF SUPPLY CHAIN.
- HAVE PREVIOUS MATERIALS REQUIREMENT PLANNING (MRP) EXPERIENCE. (MUST BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE BUY, RESCHEDULE AND CANCEL MESSAGES FROM THE SYSTEM).
