Buyer/Manufacturing/Purchasing/Service Process/SAP/ERP

Our client, a world leading Technology, Manufacturing and Service Facilities company, is currently recruiting for a Buyer on a 24 month contract, with a high possibility for extension, based in Vulcan, Caithness, Scotland.

Key deliverables:

Candidate will be a part of the buying team in Submarines. This will involve buying various products from tooling to various mechanical parts both direct and indirect commodities alongside the current 4 buyers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Buying experience
- Negotiation skills with an understanding of both make and design make contracts
- Able to deal with engineers and change as a result of new parts introduction projects and in a fast moving project environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills and relationship development
- Someone focussed on quality, cost and delivery to meet the customer's needs

Essential Criteria:

- SAP knowledge and working within a cross functional team, including design engineers.
- Having purchased direct and indirect goods.
- Nuclear experience would be good but not essential, the buying toolkit is prime
- Degree or equivalent with CIPS if possible
