Job title: Sub con Buyer

Duration: 12 Months

A Sub Con Buyer required for a large global Oil and Gas service company based in Peterhead.

Main Duties: 

- Manage all sourcing activity required for the assigned commodity by working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers. 
- Action daily requisitions or cell reports, review component requirement and determine scope of supply. 
- Coordinate, manage and issue required Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for the commodity. 
- Negotiate the best commercial and technical package for the companies procurement requirements. 
- Place and manage purchase orders, via E-procurement systems. 
- Liaise with internal customers on quality and delivery issues. 
- Expedite all live orders to ensure goods are delivered on time and on schedule. 
- Work with allocated suppliers to improve OTD and Quality statistics to target levels. 
- Ensure issues related to supplier fulfillment are managed proactively 
- Participate in global commodity team activity. 
- Drive sourcing initiatives on savings, supplier performance and supplier base rationalization. 
- Maintain current market knowledge and changing material conditions and advise management of current trends in prices and purchasing availability. 
- Collaborate with requesting departments to resolve problems relating to requirements, deviations, substitutions, priorities, delays, damages, inferior quality or other conditions that deviate from established procedures. 
- Ensure that all procurement activities are carried out in line with internal procedures. 
- Someone with a strong technical background and knowledge of subsea product would be beneficial but not essential. 
- Experience of working in machine shop environment will also be an advantage. 
- Ability to read technical/engineering drawings.
