Buyer

A market leading Energy company based in Surrey requires a Buyer on an initial 6 month contract with the strong possibility that it will convert to permanent employment at the end of the contract.

The primary accountabilities for this position are:
Buying and associated purchase order execution
* Managing, developing and negotiating contracts/orders for projects, operational spend and services to secure best value for the Company in its sourcing decisions;
* Active participation in the savings planning, reporting and review
* Timely processing of requisitions and PO execution

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Skills
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Knowledge of commercial Procurement procedures and practice, including aspects of negotiation and contract law
- Self starter, capable of taking ownership of issues and resolving them
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player
- Good planning skills

Qualifications
- Educated to Diploma/degree level or above. Preferably in an Engineering or Supply Chain related discipline
- Fluent in English
- CIPS qualified - advantageous
