Business/Technical Analyst

Contract Term

This is a 2 month contract opportunity with potential to extend. Overview

Our Client is seeking an experienced Business/Technical Analyst to assist with the completion of the Recommended Solution and RFI/RFP, and possible implementation of the recommended solution.

This position reports to the IT Project Lead and is responsible to deliver the following: - Establish the overall architecture of an information system or solution that will fulfil the business capability needs and align with established standards, procedures, and best practices
- Capture progress status and reporting back to IT Project Lead and project team
- Interact with the various IT groups and business groups
- Gather business and system requirements
- Update the Systems Requirements Specifications document
- Update the Recommended Solutions document
- Update the Systems Architecture Diagram document
- Update he Database Analysis and Design document
- Update the IT Infrastructure Requirements document
- Complete the Software Installation and License Compliance document
- Provide estimate for on-going costs on support and maintenance costs
- Assist in creating and completing an RFI and/or RFP and implementing the optimal solution.

Role and Responsibilities

- Strong analytical and documentations skills
- Strong communication and technical skills
- Strong business requirements analysis, management, and traceability
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and technology design principles
- Knowledge of solution architecture modelling (eg conceptual, logical and physical)
- Knowledge of solution architecture tools and methods (eg enterprise modelling, UML, Use case, information modelling)
- Knowledge of the RFI and RFP process
- Broad knowledge in the following domains:

i) Usability and user interaction design practices and principles
ii) Service-oriented architecture design and implementation principles
iii) Application integration architecture principles and processes
iv) Information and data architecture design principles and processes
v) Software development life cycle (package, traditional, agile)
vi) Application development principles and processes
vii) Application development tools and best practices (preferably .Net, C#)
viii) Enterprise application design patterns
ix) Software design patterns
x) Software support models.

Project Deliverables will include:

- Weekly Project Status Reports
- Updated Systems Requirements Specification
- Updated Recommended Solution
- Updated System Architecture Diagram
- Updated Database Analysis and Design
- IT Infrastructure Requirements
- Software Installation and License Compliance
- RFP/RFI document
- Project Plan, including scope, budget, and schedule
- Support Model.

Qualifications

Required Skills

- University degree in computer science, systems analysis, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field OR
- A related two-year technical diploma and minimum five years experience carrying out professional roles on multiple solution development teams and in multiple technology domains, with exposure to and participation in IT project work, business analysis and relationship management.
