BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 3 years in a technical Business Analyst or similar role working w/data warehouse and/or Business Intelligence environments
Experience conducting sessions w/business users to identify data sources, key facts & dimensions that support the business requirements
A minimum of 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE W/SQL OR BI TOOLS SUCH AS (COGNOS, BUSINESS OBJECTS, MICROSTRATEY, HYPERION, ETC.)
BACHELOR'S DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE IN COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS, COMPUTER SCIENCE, BUSINESS, STATISTICS, HEALTH services or related area
Strong oral, written & interpersonal skills for interacting & collaborating w/analysts, physicians,ability to communicate clearly in writing to document data requirements & translate into technical solutions
Demonstrated ability to be productive w/minimal supervision
Ability to function as a technical writer preferred
Experience w/health care, insurance or similar type environments preferred
Minimum number of years of experience required - 3

Top 3 - 5 Daily responsibilities
Elicit requirements using interviews, group facilitation, prototyping, data analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis & workflow analysis
Work closely w/the technical development team to document the specifications for mapping & transformation rules all the way from source to target w/in our metadata repository
Participate in design sessions with ETL developer, report developer, modeler
Develop appropriate test cases for testing within Business Intelligence program (both data warehouse and report(s) testing).
Expect knowledge base to grow over time enabling tester to make decisions about the right set of test cases for the project/effort.
Also expect tester to understand how information will be used which will inform what needs to be tested
Lead testing efforts/discussions and execute test cases (including regression suite), provide daily test defect summary during testing cycle and monitor defect tracking.
Collaborative with all members of the team

TOP 3 - 5 REQUIRED SKILLs
A minimum of 3 years in a technical Business Analyst or similar role working w/data warehouse and/or Business Intelligence environments (including writing complex data analysis SQL queries against relational data warehouses.) Knowledge of data quality, data profiling, and dimensional modelling concepts.
Self-starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to examine challenges from both a ETL, report and testing viewpoints required.
Strong oral, written & interpersonal skills for interacting & collaborating w/analysts, physicians,ability to communicate clearly in writing to document data requirements & translate into technical solutions

DESIRED SKILLS
Experience using ETL tools, preferably Informatica
Experience designing, documenting, and executing test cases.
Healthcare claims/data knowledge
Experience using defect reporting and tracking tools, preferably JIRA.
Previous experience automating test cases in tools such as Cognos or SAS.

Soft Skills
Must have excellent oral/written communications, organizational and interpersonal skills and have the ability to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple concurrent tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Description
Takes the lead role in gathering, creating & editing requirements for the Business Intelligence (BI) program on behalf of the BI department, by partnering w/the appropriate business/technical teams & customers for use in the Colorado region. Assists in developing best practices for KPCO & works in conjunction w/other analysts on the Business Intelligence Solutions BI team to follow & implement these standards. Plays an advisory role w/KPCO "customers" to understand their business needs & how to translate these into technical solutions, which support the development of analytics & reporting. Works w/resources on the BI teams to develop reporting specifications based on customer requirements as related to the organizational needs, in the most effective manner possible. Maintains & supports a culture of compliance, ethics & integrity. Maintains knowledge of policies & procedures & performs in accordance with the Principles of Responsibilities & applicable regulatory requirements, external laws & accreditation standards as they relate to BI. Appropriately reports observed fraud or abuse.
