Business/Systems Analyst

Contract Term

This is a 12 month contract opportunity.Overview

Our Client requires a Business/Systems Analyst.

Role and Responsibilities

- Reporting to the IT Project Manager, the Business/Systems Analyst will be responsible for working closely with business representatives as well as other areas of Information Technology to define requirements and map data from multiple data sources. Primary duties include:
- Determination and documentation of system requirements
- Application analysis: analysing data from multiple data sources
- Data mapping and staging of data
- Creating system architecture documentation
- Data model design
- Development and implementation of test plans
- Other duties as assigned.

The project scope and objectives are as follows:

- To synchronize data between the RIVA database and each business units' source(s) of asset data
- To have all business units using RIVA to do life cycle cost analysis using their most current data
- Create a corporate asset registry
- Create environment to meet CPIP objectives and TCA audit requirements
- Create a flexible environment where additional business units can be added over time.

Project Deliverables:
This assignment is for a Business/Systems Analyst. As such the deliverables expected are:

- Documentation
- Status reports
- Requirements documentation
- Analyses/Design documentation.

Qualifications

Required Skills:
Applicants must have one of the following combinations of education and progressive technical and/or analytical experience in an IT field (eg, systems development, network/systems administration, etc.):

- A university degree in Computer Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Mathematics, or Engineering plus three years experience; OR a related two-year technical diploma and four years experience;
- Experience in data mapping from multiple sources
- SQL querying skills
- Object-oriented analysis and design experience for windows based applications, Visio/UML, Oracle database, application analysis and system design
- Gathering and documenting of business and system requirements experience
- Previous experience with a Windows XP environment and in business analyst roles
- Experience in the development and implementation of test plans
- Data modelling skills
- Excellent communication skills, adaptability, the ability to develop trusted relationships, demonstrating innovation, initiative, a customer service focus, positive ambassadorship and the ability to meet commitments are essential.

Desired Skills:

- Experience in staging data using Informatica data integration software is preferred
- Experience in creating system architecture documentation (ie System Architecture Design and Database Architecture Design) is preferred.
