LOCATION: Bexhill

JOB TITLE: Teacher of Business Studies - Maternity Cover from September 2013

SALARY & BENEFITS : £21,256 - £36,279 P/A

WORKING HOURS: Full Time, Monday to Friday

THE ROLE: Teacher of Business Studies - Maternity Cover

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Business Studies to join our client's college in Bexhill-on-Sea.

The purpose of the role is to teach Business Studies Education to GCSE and A level standard

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:- - To teach according to Department curriculum

- Carry out duties of a teacher as set out in conditions of Service Handbook for teacher's at our client's college
- Share of Supervisory duties when required
- Take responsibility for a tutor group
- Be responsible for student discipline and learning within your curriculum area
- To support the Course Manager and Head of section in the organisation of all aspects of Chemistry within the College
- To plan lessons effectively with challenging learning objectives and a range of teaching strategies
- To encourage the students and assist with the provision in extracurricular activities
- To ensure adequate reporting to parents of student's work in accordance with College policy.
- To assess and accurately record student's work in accordance with Departmental policy
- To participate in the creation of Schemes of Work and the development of the Section and curriculum
- To keep up to date with health and safety requirements and carry out risk assessments
- To attend and contribute to meetings as required

THE COMPANY: Our client are a thriving and expanding Sixth Form College with outstanding examination results. The college is based in Bexhill supporting 6th form students in the UK and internationally with 80+ courses including A- Levels, BTECS and Apprenticeships.

THE CANDIDATE: Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher of Business Studies who will be committed to the vision and mission of our client's college. The candidate will be self motivated and willing to contribute to the promotion of the school.

KEY EXPERIENCE/ CHARACTERISTICS PREFERRED FOR THE ROLE:- - Hold a degree or related professional qualification equal to level 5
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification (PGCS, Certificate of Education, QTS etc)
- Have experience of teaching and preparing students (16-19) for external examinations from Level 1-3
- Motivational
- Strong classroom management skills
- Experience of teaching 14-16 year old students is desirable
- A minibus driver is desirable
