Business Solutions Architect | Contract Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to propose a suitable technical solution for an end-to-end archival system for digital records, incorporating design options that varyi n implementation time andcost.

THE ROLE:

- Understand the vision, strategic priorities and interpret business requirements as a basis to design a suitable technical solution and tailor proposed options
- Understand the capability and limitations of current systems/environments and consolidate the gap analysis identifying where existing systems are not capable of providing a scalable system
- Identify key gaps, risks, technologies, and advantages including efficiencies for each option
- Identify software/technologies to be developed or acquired and where there is re-use of existing ones
- Provide advice and insight into the complexity of implementation, including transitional architecture, and indicative costs for each option
- Develop advice and recommendations that take into account the need for appropriate Metadata standards (there is a concurrent project relating to Metadata Standards)
- Produce a final report for Executive that provides a suitable technical solution for an archival end-to-end system incorporating design options that vary in implementation time and cost.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

- Experience in complex solution architecture projects
- Demonstrated experience in system and database integration, data migration, workflows, digital records and metadata
- Well practised solution architecture, design and development across large scale systems and various platforms
- Proven ability to understand and contribute to all levels of the design - business, data, application and technology
- Knowledge of key:
- Australian Government policies and initiatives,
- best practice industry standards,
- trends in digital storage and access, and
- information management and business workflow processes.
- Solution Architecture certifications and/or memberships

- Increased levels of automation to be driven by contemporary technology, improved metadata standards and provision of metadata
- Leveraging technological options to rationalise and support efficiency in delivering our business in a digital environment
- Managing the life cycle of digital records and implementing sustainable business processes for doing this.
