Business Solution Architect

Due to a big demand and chnage, Thames Water is looking for a Common Domain Architect to join us here on an interim basis.

The Business Solution Architect works alongside the business, Business Improvement and Solution Design (SDD) and delivery teams to define and design solutions to fit into the functional, information and systems architecture in line with the BIC solution design. The role holder will be expected to work with 3rd party resources to ensure solution is maintained and evolved.

The design and communication of high-level structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs. Changes to service, process, organisation, operating model and other aspects may be required in addition to technology components, and solutions must demonstrate how agreed requirements (such as automation of business processes) are met, any requirements which are not fully met or, and any options or considerations which require a business decision. The provision of comprehensive guidance on the development of, and modifications to, solution components to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices and that existing and planned solution component remain compatible.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Experience working as senior technical lead, SAP Basis Lead or technical Architect
- Strong knowledge of architecture methodologies, principles and frameworks, eg TOGAF, Zachman
- Business domain knowledge (CRM and billing, Back Office or work & asset management)
- Deep SAP technical knowledge/experience
- Experience in leading a technical team (perf SAP)
- Experience in working with 3rd party technical teams
- Service-oriented architecture principles
- Able to sell ideas to project teams and managers
- Excellent communication skills

- Strong conceptual thinker
- Good abstract reasoning
