A leading Energy and Utilities client of Hyphen Recruitment is looking for a Business Readiness Analyst to join a large scale programme of work within their headquarters.

Job Purpose:
Part of the Smart Metering Customer Programme, the vision for PAYG is to create an industry leading proposition for customers that empowers them to control and budget for their energy, in a genuinely helpful way that is flexible and intuitive to their lifestyle and business needs. Smart meters will be able to be installed in either credit or PAYG mode. The PAYG Programme is responsible for defining and delivering the PAYG solution which needs to fulfil the UK Board's direction of developing a world-class solution for Smart PAYG, to deliver major market advantage.

Job Summary/Description:

* Responsible for identifying business requirements to support the delivery of PAYG, and carrying out sufficient analysis to ensure we have captured the requirement correctly, to be fed in to the IT work stream
* Responsibility for the documentation of business processes to support PAYG throughout key points in the customer life cycle, working with multiple work streams to ensure these are workable, gaining approval at all levels
* Identifying key questions as to how we deliver the PAYG solution, carrying out analysis to identify options, business impacts of each and to make a recommendation on how these get resolved
* Preparing lobbying arguments to shape industry decision making
* Working with Finance on the PAYG business case
* Supporting the IT team in understanding the impacts PAYG IT requirements will have on the business.
* Define the readiness activities which ensure specified business areas are ready for the implementation of PAYG, by working with multiple work streams and operational teams
* Work closely with work streams and operational teams to implement all readiness activities prior to PAYG launch
* Post launch, carry out analysis to identify improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the Smart PAYG programme.
* Support the production of the necessary documents that are to be used at the PAYG Steering Group and Design Authority to make decisions on strategic and organisational choices
* Supporting the Business Architect to validate areas of costs and benefit incremental to the Smart Gate Paper to feed in to ongoing refinement of the business case
* Deliver against cost, time, quality and safety measures in line with agreed budgets and plans.
* Maintaining a robust deliverable and document library in line with Programme controls.

Key Skills:

* Experience of business analysis across a breadth of energy retail operations including customer operations, field operations, prepayment etc
* Experience of identification and articulation of key issues, with the ability to work through ambiguity to define options and recommendations
* Ability to build effective working relationships and influence senior stakeholders
* Self motivation and drive to deliver the best possible results within challenging timescales and with high expectations
* Track record of delivering achievements while working cross functionally
* Experience of Blue Sky Thinking - Keeping the big picture at the forefront of mind throughout the programme life cycle
* Solid understanding of project and document management methodologies
* Relevant qualification in business analysis is desirable
* A detailed understanding of smart metering and prepayment is desirable
* Proven ability to understand existing processes and identify where changes need to be made
* Proven ability to solve complex problems
* Clear approach to planning and organising to meet deadlines and support decision making
