Business Project Manager CONTRACT

My Client in Milton Keynes is looking to take on a contract Business Project Manager for 3-6 month period.

Duties to include:

Providing periodic reports and reviews of progress and work in hand;

Managing projects using agreed project methodologies and taking responsibility for stakeholder consultation, business requirements analysis and implementation of systems within time and budget constraints;

Working with a cross-functional team of regional and faculty and working closely with the project managers and workstreams leads across the programme;

Engage in business analysis, including the support of research in to proposals and their costing Communication of planned projects and progress;

Maintaining project documentation including business plans, schedules, risk and issues registers, taking responsibility where requested for monitoring and resolving risks and issues;

Taking a key role in creative problem solving and analysis of issues relating to the project within the scope of the programme.

Contributing to and influencing the planning and development of the project within the scope of the programme.

Ensuring effective communication flow between the Project Team and other relevant areas of the University.

Recording and implementing agreed changes to the project schedule.

Providing input in producing formal project documentation for implementing and delivering the project, including project plans, schedules, risk registers and communication plans.

Ensuring that the workstream progresses according to agreed milestones and methodology, including delivery of project documentation, definition of success criteria, and development of an evaluation plan.

Adapting documentation, working practices and schedules to meet the changing demands of the project.

Managing budgets for the project

Also to:

Person Specification Essential

1.A first degree or equivalent education, or work experience at a comparable level.

2.Prince 2 qualification or equivalent project/programme management qualification3.Experience of managing projects using recognised Prince 2 methodologies

4.Experience of managing institutional change across functions and within a multi-disciplinary team

5.Have an ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, cross-faculty and cross-unit teams.

6.Experience of using new technology to deliver business processes

7.Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work on own initiative

8.Excellent research, analytical and planning skills with the ability to assimilate information from multiple sources and stakeholders

9.Excellent written, oral and online communication skills with ability to lead as well as contribute to, informal and formal, discussions. An ability to communicate with people from a wide range of experience and backgrounds. Able to deliver workshops and presentations with flair and engage the audience.

10.Experience of drafting project documentation for governance bodies;

11.Experience of working independently, as well as being able to work collaboratively and as an effective member of a team

12.Well-developed ICT skills and experience of using MSOffice project management software, management information tools etc.

13.Use of MS Project or a similar tool to proficiently plan and schedule project and workstream tasks.

14.Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing priorities

15.Strong influencing and negotiation skills

16.Excellent inter-personal skills, demonstrating discretion, confidentiality and the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and provide information and advice to project and workstream managers.

17.Readiness to travel to and work in Regional and National offices

18.Experience of managing staff

19.Experience of managing resources and/or budgets.
