Business/Product Controller - Emerging Markets

One of our large Investment Banking clients based in London is looking for an experienced Emerging Markets Business/Product Controller

This role is to execute business controls covering the various different but challenging Emerging Markets businesses such as Global Financing Group, Local Currency Trading, Russia and Non-Russia, Structured Credit.

The candidate should be highly-numerate, have attention to detail, be able to work well under pressure and have a keen interest in complex products.

Responsibilities
ACCOUNTABILITY FOR FINANCIAL RESULTS
- Ensure Daily P&L calculated by Line Control is materially correct, review commentary for the Global P&L daily call, Review daily commentary for trade groups > $2m.
- Review Weekly P&L and Monthly P&L cut by MIS and legal entity
- Complete/Review Weekly New Deal Template
- Monthly QUAD commentaries incorporating results, market data, opportunities and risks
- Monthly provision calculations eg Funding basis and Warrant provisions
- Monthly Balance Sheet Review
- Inventory analysis, - Fair ValueLeveling, - Fair Value Option
- Analytical Review of month on month trends and cross referencing with market and business knowledge
- Support New Business initiatives, Ensure Pre-Trade Approval and Structured Trade Review processes operate effectively
- Acquire a detailed understanding of all significant new deals and their associated risks
- Ensure all caps and caveats are adhered to
- Ensure Line Control are brought into the process in their capacity as SMEs for system flows
- Be accountable for EM EMEA Business Control Eurometrics (KPIs)
- Monitor progress of Business Control against pre-defined success criteria
- Perform and evidence Controls in accordance with SOX guidance
- Comply with all internal policies and procedures in accordance with the Governance framework
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders

CHANGE AGENDA
- Identify opportunities to develop & streamline analytical activities and to improve controls
- Participate on all strategic change initiatives initiated by the FO
- Set Business Requirements and perform Systems/UAT testin

Essential
Business/Product Control experience
Emerging Markets experience
good understanding of P&L drivers, moves and variances, nature of the products traded, data flow/storage/processing, reasons behind breaks and accurate P&L reporting.
be aware of the risks associated with the business and demonstrate a good control mindset, questioning processes and analysing issues, assessing the need to investigate further or escalate
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
Investment Ba Banking skills

Excellent communication skills
