Business Process Analyst

Role:

- Drive the design, documentation and development of business requirements and functional specifications using context diagram and process models that support key business, process and system and ensure project artefacts are kept current
- Convene and facilitate interview workshops as necessary to understand and document the operations across a number of business units and/or agencies;
- Review and analyse business processes, re-engineer as necessary to improve efficiency, effectiveness and/or usability using strategic analysis techniques and process models;
- Work as an effective team member in investigating and developing options and solutions while providing expert advice on business and system processes.
- Provide gap analyses of as-is and to-be business and system processes and assist in the development of Change Management plans
- Evaluate proposed system solutions in close liaison with system developers to ensure delivery of solutions are consistent
- Assist in the production of a robust business case that includes options analysed, impact assessments and funding recommendations where required.

Selection Criteria:

- High level of experience in investigating existing organisation structure and business functions as well as modelling, decomposing and documenting business processes, policies, business rules and controls, performance requirements
- Demonstrated experience in business process models and associated standard operating procedures using tools and techniques such as BPMN, UML, Visio or System Architect;
- Extensive experience in the development of instructional and procedural documentation and presentations;
- Demonstrated organisational, time management and prioritising skills to ensure deliverables are completed in agreed timeframes ability
- Good communication skills (oral and written), facilitation skills, interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills with a proven capacity to develop and maintain sound working relationships with end users, key stakeholders, suppliers and project team members;
- Highly developed skills in computer literacy, particularly in the area of business productivity products Microsoft Word, Project, Excel and PowerPoint etc.
