Apex Resource Solutions specialises in recruitment and related services across the Business Intelligence, Information Management and Analytics sectors, with over 7 years experience placing highly skilled professionals to an extensive list of clients.

This is a long-term contract engagement, working on-site with a leading Utilities organisation with a large presence in Melbourne. There is a strong possibility of extension. This role involves stakeholder interaction and technical development of Business Objects, Webi, Universe and Xcelsius.

THE ROLE:

- Techno/Functional role - full SDLC with Business Objects (BOXI)
- Engage with the business, understanding their requirements and prototype the reporting process.
- Work closely with the Datawarehouse team, drawing the correct data from the warehouse, in order to build the appropriate data sets.
- Development of Universes in Business Objects.
- Create complex and detailed BO reports, using Webi, dashboards in Xcelsius to agreed SLA's.
- Presentation of these reports and dashboards back to the business.
- Ad/hoc changes to the reports as per the business.
- Ability to interact and lead a small team of off-shore developers.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Extensive, hands on development experience using Business Objects (Ideally R3).
- Knowledge of Universe Design, and Webi BI reports.
- Good understanding of Datawarehouse environments, previous experience in Datamodelling and data mining.
- Understanding of designing and developing across star and snowflake schemas.
- Consultative approach, ability understand business requirements and develop BI specifications.
- Be able to support Business Objects platform when necessary, assisting in tier 3 trouble issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
