Business Objects Developer urgently required by a leading Investment Bank - the role will be around 80% building a new Business Objects based end-user self-service reporting and analytics capability, and 20% using his/ her JAVA development skills to design, build and test IBM/OpenPages batch Notifications. The role will pay up to £550/day and is based inLondon. Main Duties Business Objects reports writer & JAVA developer to deliver the following: · Build a new Business Objects Universe to provide an end-user self-service reporting and analytics capability · Develop new Business Objects reports (work includes knowledge of master detail, cross-tab, drill-downs, cascading prompts, custom hierarchies and merged dimensions, applying row level and data level security) · Write JAVA code to make enhancements and changes to existing OpenPages batch notifications or any OpenPages functionality requiring JAVA / J2EE code additions (understanding and experience of data structures and algorithms, core JAVA libraries, JUnit testing and logging frameworks (log4) · Daily interaction with the other Open Pages / Business Objects developers (on-shore and off-shore) · Interact with the business stakeholders and project team Person Requirements Required: * University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Management or related discipline and/or professional certification * 3+ years of SAP Business Objects XI R3 development * 3+ years of JAVA development, preferably in an investment or retail banking environment * 2+ years of technical analysis (gap analysis, impact analysis, planning to produce delivery timeline) * Experience in Oracle and SQL including stored procedures/functions * Experience in dealing and communicating with business stakeholders * Detailed, structured and thorough * Working knowledge of Windows OS and web servers (IIS, WebLogic, Apache Tomcat) * Proven experience with rigorous software development lifecycle processes * Excellent communicator (English) both written and verbally * Working effectively within a globalised environment Preferred: * Strong experience in Oracle and SQL including stored procedures/functions * Hands-on experience on Cognos ReportNet version 1.1 to change existing / create new Cognos reports * Experience of JIRA,QualityCenter * Experience of SharePoint * Experience in OpenPages configuration changes * Experience in OpenPages FASTMAP * Experience of working with offshore developers * Willing to take initiative Business Objects Developers with some Java development exposure who are keen to join an accredit Operational Risk Technology team of a globally renowned Investment Bank are urged to apply.
