Business Manager

Leading Corporate Bank requires a Business Manager with strong finance and supplier management experience.

Location: Canary Wharf, London

Rate: £500 - £600/day

Duration: Until March 2015 initially

Business Manager - Direct Report to Chief of Staff.

Responsible for the Resourcing and Finance for a Corporate Credit Debt Recovery.

The purpose of this role is to:

* Ensure alignment of the end to end financial management process
* Ensure that headcount and financial targets are met
* Enable the effective management of vendor relationships
* Ensure that recruitment is efficient and adequate controls and on-boarding processes are in place and adhered to
* Ensure all staff are compliant with mandatory training and all other policies
* Promote standards, consistency, governance and best practice methodologies

Core accountabilities
* Financial management and reporting processes and work with the central COO, Finance and HR functions to provide transparency
* First line approval for travel, recharges & vendor spend
* The tracking of CCDR headcount and budgets, forecasts and performance and reporting
* Central point for all recruitment and resource metrics
* Location strategy implementation and space management, forecasting and logistics
* Manage and monitor compliance training to ensure all training is completed within the required timeframe
* Single point of contact for managing queries, escalations and team access rights
* Facilitate the change governance processes

Key clients (internal and external)

This role is expected to face off to the Corporate COO, Finance, HR, sourcing CRES, Compliance and Vendors.

Role requirements

The role requires that the individual have experience of successful business management within multinational enterprise sized financial services firms. The ideal candidate will have experience of financial, resource and risk management. The ideal candidate should possess a collaborative style and exceptional relationship building and influencing skills in order to work closely with teams not under their direct control.

Professional/technical experience

The role will require the following Professional and Technical competencies:
* Proven track record in technology business management at departmental level within a multinational enterprise sized financial services firm
* Strong budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking and financial reporting skills
* Proven experience in managing technology risks, issues and dependencies
* Thorough understanding of the full software development life cycle and good understanding of ITIL
* Experience of vendor management
* Experience with communication and engagement at all levels

Managerial experience
The candidate should have experience of resource management including managing diverse teams in multiple locations.

Academic and professional qualifications
* Qualified to degree level, or experienced to an equivalent level

Language skills
