Role Description
The Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist's role is to maintain and develop the Company's BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses. This includes gathering user requirements, designing, and rolling out BI solutions using the existing BI infrastructure based on Microsoft SQL Server tools. The Business Intelligence Specialist is also responsible for ensuring high levels of BI availability through supporting operational systems and in-depth testing. Reports to Head of Regional Management Information Systems.

Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
* College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering.
* Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 tools are highly desirable, and other Microsoft technologies would be an advantage.

Knowledge & Experience
* Minimum of 2 years direct work experience with the Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence stack.
* Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practises.
* Strong ability to analyse user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications.
* Comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.
* Demonstrated ability with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 database engine, Integration Services, Analysis Services and Reporting Services.
* Demonstrated ability to use Windows SharePoint for building BI portals and collaborative solutions. SharePoint development experience would be highly desirable.
* Demonstrated fluency with MS Windows operating systems.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010, especially Excel for OLAP pivot tables.
* Knowledge of C#, Visual Basic and PowerPivot would be an advantage.
* Full project management and development life cycle experience.
* In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and server operating systems.
