Business Intelligence Specialist

Hays client are looking for a Business Intelligence Specialist for a 6 month contract based in East Kilbride

Job Description

The post holder will play a leading role in designing, developing and implementing a business intelligence capability

Key accountabilities for the role are:

1) Apply strategy for managing information;
2) Provision of financial and management information that supports decision making and performance monitoring in operational areas, procurement and finance depts;
3) Expert guidance on the exploitation and management of information available in the ERP and associated information systems;
4) Analysis and improvement to the information architecture to support operational requirements;
5) Define necessary changes to the schemas of sERP, Data Mart, data extracts, indices and interfaces;
6) Improving data quality and data cleansing in the ERPand associated information systems;
7) Performance optimization of reports;

You should be able to demonstrate good interpersonal, communication and leadership skills as you will be expected build working relationships with business departments

Essential Skills

* Experience and advanced understanding of Microsoft SQL relational databases, T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services;
* Experience of reporting from an ERP solution;
* Experience and advanced understanding of reporting from OLTPdatabase and OLAPdata-mart;
* Experience in reporting financial information including generation of calculations such as sub-totals, YTD, variance, trends and exceptions;
* Experience of linking Excel to data sources to minimise rekeying;

Desirable Skills:

* MCSE: Business Intelligence ;
* Performance tuning reports by analysis of SQL query plan and changing indexing on tables;
* Previous experience of reporting from UNIT4 Agresso;
* Previous experience of reporting from Proactis Alito ;
