Business Intelligence Project Leader/Designer, Bank, Brussels

Objective:
The Business Intelligence team at my client, an international Bank based in Brussels, is in charge of the development of Management Reports. The team already comprises Business Analysts, Designers and Developers - now we are looking for a Project Leader/Design Expert:you must have strong Datastage and Cognos skills and experience. Candidates from other industries (non-financial sector) will also be considered.
TASKS:
Design the functional solution based on the business requirements. This includes the logical specification of incoming interface flows, the ETL-processes, the logical data models for data warehouse and data mart;
Assisted by an information architect and application specialists, you will also be participating in source system qualification
Coordinate developers' activities to deliver qualitative BI applications, from design to testing. Technologies used are IBM DataStage and IBM Cognos;
Make frequent communication with the users to collect and clarify requirements, monitor progress;
Manage projects and make sure they are delivered on time and on budget. Manage issues and risks. Communicate with the business about project status.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
Minimum 5 years in Design using Datastage and 2 years in project management.
Nice to have but not essential:
Cognos BI (10.1), BI cubes, Scrum.
You must have expertise in Business Intelligence modelling and Stars schema and dimensional databases.
You should be able to anticipate the links between reporting needs and a new BI model.
You also know logical process design: design of ETL processes in a data warehouse context;
Testing: ability to specify and perform the test cases that will allow to verify the correct implementation of the functional design (functional testing);
You should have a proven experience in BI projects in the Financial sector (banking, insurance or similar)
You must have proven experience in project management: delivery of projects on time and on budget, manage issues and risks, communicate with the business.
Language: English.
