WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND OF THIS PROJECT?

The division is responsible for influencing cost management decisions through the provision of commercial and financial expertise and ensuring compliance with the bank-wide governance framework.

AND WHAT ARE THE KEY OBJECTIVES?

Support the Business Partner in the management of a functional cost base (in the range c£100m - £800m depending on particular function or franchise) and undertake complex financial MI to support key business decisions at Senior and Executive Business Leader level.

WHAT WILL BE THE CORE DUTIES OF THE ROLE?

- To be the expert lead source of insightful management information to the functional Business Partner, working with the Business Partner to define, execute and support the presentation of actionable insight to Senior and Executive Business Leaders.
- Actively manage the relationship with Business Partners and other Business Intelligence Managers to ensure reporting requirements are timely, of high quality and meet/exceed business expectations.
- Ensure Business Intelligence Managers are supported in developing and maintaining these relationships.

STRATEGY, COST MANAGEMENT, PRICING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

- Provide analytical services to the Business Partner support and lead the development of strategic business plans, scenario planning, what if analysis and complex cost management initiatives.
- Manage end to end delivery of complex and multi faceted financial projects and analysis, engaging business operational staff, 3rd parties and stakeholders to develop business insight and opportunities to meet strategic objectives

BUSINESS PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

- Work with Business Partners to jointly determine drivers for projects and initiative reporting. Working with Business Partners to analyse Board/Management reporting for Executive Committees, bringing appropriate Executive focus to problem areas and developing the story of Business performance.
- Utilise a range of internal and external MI to assess business performance and effectiveness such as external benchmarking and industry trends

FORECASTING AND BUDGETING

- Create draft forecasts and budgets and work with Business Partners to align them with business aspirations
- Work with the Business Partner and the Business to simplify and reduce time taken to develop budgets/forecasts
