BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ENGINEER SEATTLE, WA CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

This is an opening with the team responsible for understanding how to operate our client's enterprise network reliably and at scale. They have direct impact on making sure engineering operations run smoothly by monitoring network performance. Provides key inputs to network and systems architecture by developing innovative ways to model how the network works and grows. Works collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to ensure that advanced quantitative modelling always results in actionable and scalable solutions.

Currently we re looking for smart candidates that can extract value from untapped data. We are looking for candidates with a passion for data, unfettered curiosity and a demonstrated ability to dive deep. This complex and rapidly growing network generates a constant stream of challenges that requires you to continually innovate with an evolving set technologies. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with a broad range of data structures. It is essential that s/he understands the systems that generate data and a focus on automating analyses.

Since every business in this company relies on a network that runs smoothly, the right candidate will guide the business and communicate value, work collaboratively to develop pragmatic yet flexible solutions and move forward in the face ambiguity. The candidate should be willing to build good working relationships with partners with data problems within the team and across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Identify relevant data and help extract and transform the data.
- Build statistical learning models.
- Help implement the models on behalf of our developer customers
- Test and report on the results.
- Work with leadership to present key findings from analyses to stakeholders.
- Provide input on suggested business actions based on analytical findings
- Work with various stakeholders to understand drivers, goals and actionable outcomes of large scale analyses.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- B.S. degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or a similar quantitative field
- 3+ years work experience in relevant field
- Experience with applied statistics, econometrics, operations research, or similar fields
- Experience in a programming (eg Java/C) and/or a Scripting language (Perl, Python, Unix Shell) to process data
- Experience with modern data mining techniques, as well as tools for developing such models (map-reduce, Hadoop)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Master's degree or higher with additional experience preferred
- 5+ years work experience in applied statistics and econometrics
- Experience with Big Data
- Experience with designing and managing primary research
