Business Intelligence Data Analyst

A major client of mine, based in Peterborough, United Kingdom, are currently looking for a 'Business Intelligence Data Analyst' to join their team on an initial 3 month contract offering up to £500 per day for the right candidate. They are a well-established, financial services organisation and are looking for a candidate available for an immediate start.

You will be brought in to the team to develop market leading Business Intelligence solutions in an agile product team that gives CTM a competitive advantage in the industry.

Key responsibilities:

- Ensure Development is delivered to a high quality, on time and budget to the agreed requirements.
- Ensure delivery is at a high standard at all times
- Ensure team standards are being evolved and increased
- Manage and take responsibility for project continuous delivery environment
- Be responsible for technical problem solving
- Ensure effective communication and cooperation with other IT (and Business) managers and departments to resolve problems/issues and further enhance the IT development services provided to the business.
- Liaise with other developers to maintain standards across the team and department

Helping to plan and arrange internal technical forums

- Undertake activities in line with department standards and/or working practices
- Contribute to the on-going improvement of the adopted working practices and standards within the department

Liaise with business to help define requirements

- Contribute to the design, specification and analysis of data solutions
- Contribute to the implementation of computer systems and the accurate tracking of work items
- Assist in the articulation and evaluation of business requirements
- Support integration testing of developments, data and/or systems
- Contribute to the agile process to ensure a high standard of delivery
- Assist in architectural design planning

Experience:

- Understanding of the concepts behind testing
- Experience using and defining automated tests
- Understanding of schema design
- MS SQL 2008, SSMS, Hadoop, Pig
- Data Mining
- Strong data querying ability in both MS SQL and any Hadoop toolset
- Strong problem solving skills
- Agile Development Environments
- Continuous Delivery/Integration
- Good environmental aptitude
- Network Architecture
- Load testing
