BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE (BI) & DATA WAREHOUSE (DWH) PROFESSIONAL - BERN - GERMAN SPEAKING
The holder of this position is responsible for DWH Administration and development within the client's organization. Dimensional Datamodelling and development of Oracle OLAP cubes is also part of the field of activities.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience as a DWH Administrator.
- Relevant certification (Oracle) would be a plus.
- Experience in architecting, optimizing and maintaining enterprise databases
- ETL/Data profiling experience using Oracle OWB
- Data Architect/Modelling experience using Oracle AWM
- Expert knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
- Knowledge of Oracle Query tuning and use of query hints and indexes
- Excellent grasp of Database Design normalization, de-normalization, physical database design, relational models, and dimensional modelling
- Business Intelligence (BI) experience with a strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, Datamodelling concepts and design
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic, fast paced environment are also required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Warehouse and Server Administration
- Maintenance and development of ETL mappings in Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB)
- Design and Implementation of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence solutions using Dimensional Modelling and Star Schema
- Design of Backup and Recovery Policies for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
- Maintenance of Data Quality and Integrity of EDW
- Development of Analysis Models for various business subject areas
- Development of Oracle OLAP cube models
- Collaboration with techno-functional consultants to identify and understand Source Data Systems.
- Mapping of source system data to the EDW data model
- Development and testing of extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes
- Definition and capturing of Meta Data and rules associated with ETL processes
- Query tuning for performance.
- Utilization of Business Intelligence tools and OLAP to generate cubes and analytical reports on large volumes of data
LANGUAGES
- German (mother tongue or full working proficiency)
- English (limited or full working proficiency)
- Other languages (especially French) are a plus
