Position - BI Data Engineer
Rate - €510/day maximum
Location - Brussels Central
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a BI Data Engineer to develop new and to enhance existing data flows from the source system to enterprise data warehouse and specific data marts. The opportunity is within an expanding Fintech in central Brussels with easy accessibility on the rail network. This is a key role within the business to ensure that the BICC can provide usable information and keep them as a key player within their market.
You
As a BI Data Engineer, you are needed to develop high quality BI components that meet the reporting needs of the business in such a way that the cost of future enhancements remains under control.
*Full Microsoft BI stack development experience (SSIS, SSAS, TSQL)
*Experience in Data Warehouse development
*Excellent knowledge of SQL and SQL Server database
*Experience in data visualization is an asset
*Preferably 3-ligual - English/Dutch/French - however a combination of these is suitable
*Translate functional and non-functional specifications into technical BI components. If required, clarify the grey areas of the specifications
*Develop high quality BI components (in SQL server, SSIS, SSAS):
-Data warehouse tables (Facts, Dimensions, STG, HSA, temporary)
-ETL packages
-Cubes & Power View Sources
*Make sure all new development and changes are covered by unit tests
*All unexpected test results should be investigated and corrections should be made.
*Make sure necessary documents are created or updated
*Prepare, Document and Deploy the BI components (in agreement with IT OPS)
*Follow up execution of ETL packages
*Check impact of projects on the existing BI solutions
