Business Intelligence/BI Architect

CONTRACT ONLY ON W2

- Responsible for architecting scalable, robust, compliant Business Intelligence solutions to empower information workers and provide actionable information for business decisions.
- Applies Business Intelligence best practices to the development standards and solution architecture
- Enables the enterprise to realize more value out of analytics by identifying gaps and opportunities, recommending changes and improvements, and formulating action plans to help manage information goals
- Provides users with the means to quickly understand business information through visualization, dashboards, business metrics, KPIs, reports, pre-built and ad-hoc queries, search, and predictive analytics
- Establishes integrated tools to define and manage strategic and operational goals
- Facilitates consolidated access to internally and externally sourced data
- Collaborates with business unit and other technology group staff to define enterprise requirements, goals, and objectives. Assists the BI Program Manager in translating business need into a technical solution.
- Establishes BI development methodologies and documents the BI architecture.
- Administers the library of documentation supporting dashboards, KPIs, reports, queries, and ad-hoc query exposure.
- Defines BI standards, policies and procedures for the organization.
- Models the business, logical and physical framework.
- Performs dimensional, relational, and multidimensional data modelling in collaboration with the data modeler.
- Develops dashboard and reporting solutions using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) and the Microsoft BI stack (Analysis Services, Reporting Services, SharePoint, Office, and more).
- Supplements the team by coding BI applications, database procedures, and/or reports and dashboards
- Maintains technical proficiency with BI best practices; specifically visualization, dashboards, business metrics, KPIs, reports, queries, search, predictive analytics, and master data management.
- Selects appropriate technology to enable measurement of enterprise, company, department, and individual strategic through tactical goals.
- Designs and develops multidimensional semantic layer and BI query objects for end users.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
- Business Intelligence Professional certification (vendor independent, from TDWI or ICCP).
- 10+ years of overall IT work experience in database analysis, design, and development.
- 6+ years of data design experience using both dimensional and relational techniques
- 4+ years extract, transform and load experience using Informatica, Oracle Warehouse Builder, Data Stage, SSIS, Data Loader and/or Scripting.
- 4+ years working with reporting tools such as Crystal, Reporting Services, OBIEE, BI Publisher, etc.
- 3+ years of specific experience with Microsoft SQL Server design, development and support capacities.
