Business Intelligence (BI) Architect

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ARCHITECT to join our client in Seattle, WA.

JOB OVERVIEW:
As a Business Intelligence Architect, you will guide the technical architecture of a new Datawarehouse which will be leveraged by a Front End application. The successful candidate should possess deep technical expertise in database design, warehouse modelling, ETL, reporting and analytics.

The successful candidate enjoys getting "hands on" and building solutions alongside the rest of the development team, helping to define development patterns and instill best practices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Translate client user requirements into technical architecture vision and implementation plan
- Design and develop the architecture for all data warehousing components (eg tool integration strategy; source system data ETL strategy, data staging, movement and aggregation; information and analytics delivery; and data quality strategy)
- Design of the Datawarehouse data storage strategy/technique
- Hardware recommendations, sizing and configuration
- Mentoring and developing junior staff

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- A minimum of (7) years of experience as an architect of large scale data warehouses.
- Expert data modelling skills
- Expert level knowledge of ETL concepts and tools in the Microsoft SQL Server Datawarehouse stack
- Reporting Services 2008+
- OLAP/Analysis Services 2008+
- Integration Services 2008+
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Possess strong communication and client management skills.
- Expertise with both Kimball and Inmon Datawarehouse methodologies
- Expertise in integrating data from a wide variety of sources
- API/Web services, FTP, flat files, multiple database technologies
- Ability to work onsite 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday in Seattle, WA

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
- Expertise with SAN storage systems
- Expertise with performance tuning large data warehouses
- Experience with Business Objects Edge Web Intelligence universe architecture
