Job description
The BI designer structures data for optimal access, performance, and integration. This role is responsible for building new data sets and data structures as required to support business needs, and for managing the distribution, replication, and archival of data. The designer must manage the balance of current and future needs in both design and content. This role requires a blend of skills normally found in the specialized roles of business analyst, data modeler, and database analyst.
Profile
Create functional and technical specifications based on the business requirements
o Interpret requirements
o Integration in business enterprise model
o Create subject area model
o Create logical and physical data model for the data warehouse and the datamarts
Validate models with production data, and guarantee consistency of the data warehouse
Ensure data compliance with the standards
Ensure consistency with the integrated data model and other information architecture deliverables
Develop processes for capturing and maintaining metadata from all BI components
Required Skills
Experience in BI reporting environments and tools
Experience in BI reporting environments and tools:
o Minimum 5 years' experience functional analysis
o Minimum 5 years' experience in Data Warehouse modelling
o Minimum 5 years' experience in creation of ETL specifications
Knowledge of Pentaho and/of Microstrategy is mandatory
Extensive experience with ETL tools
Understanding of current BI industry trends and willingness to learn
English is the common work language
