Business Intelligence Analyst

Our client is responsible for delivering and driving enterprise class Corporate/Executive level solutions for Financial and Management Reporting. A new team is forming to focus on Commercial and Consumer Cloud reporting and enabling Business Intelligence across multiple teams driving in this new realm. The team will consist of highly motivated people dedicated to identifying, implementing, and supporting the best BI solutions in order to create useful, timely decision support tools and processes. All members of the team have the opportunity to directly impact the way this huge enterprise measures its business success, and are encouraged to seek out and implement process and design improvements as a part of ongoing responsibilities.

We are looking for a strong individual to drive reporting and data delivery solutions across multiple disciplines (eg finance marketing, operations, and customer support). S/He should have a solid understanding of what comprises a holistic reporting solution, what influences business decisions to enable appropriate analysis and drive market share. The successful candidate for this position will have a solid understanding of reporting technologies and data structures that drive business processes and the ability to translate that understanding using strong information worker development skills. They will also work closely with MS BI technologies and thus, should have a strong passion for applying their business/technical knowledge and experience to develop an innovative and comprehensive reporting experience for our users.

Core job responsibilities:

- Lead the design and delivery of BI and Reporting solutions for relevant groups.
- Drive data quality enhancements and auditing into an enterprise system and into individual reporting needs.
- Establish and ensure business data quality standards are met for the enterprise.
- Prototype multiple proof-of-concept data models and KPI/metric enhancements. Transform these POCs into implementation in business rhythms and reviews and/or into corporate IT solutions.
- Develop partnerships with business owners, segment and field leads, corporate finance and IT to ensure overall project success (business drivers, business process methodology, technical capability/functionality, deployment and adoption timelines).
- Provide estimates for scope, schedule and resources, assess risk and identify key assumptions.
- Drive training, process integration, and adoption of reporting solutions to ensure value realization across multiple stakeholders.
- Ensure BI solutions continue to operate in a dynamic business environment (taxonomy changes, requirement changes, etc.) following initial deployment.
- Partner with Solutions Architects and Product Groups to employ and influence emerging technologies.
- Analyze and troubleshoot existing processes and workflows and make necessary changes to optimize performance and user experience.

Qualifications:

- BA/BS degree in Finance/Information Systems or related discipline
- 10-12 years of related experience
- MBA/MIS degree with 7-10 years' experience preferred
- Excellent cross-group collaboration skills and the ability to influence stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong understanding of financial processes (eg revenue consolidation, budget, forecast)
- Strong understanding of business drivers that influence adoption and market penetration (eg # of seats, customer growth, compete analysis)
- Ability to act as a liaison between business stakeholders and development teams to ensure successful technical fulfillment of business requirements
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and changing business requirements
- Previous experience in financial or management reporting and business scorecard solutions
- Experience and strong understanding of the Microsoft BI stack (SQL, Analysis Services, SSRS, Excel Services, etc.)
- Experience leveraging collaboration technology (eg SharePoint) to deliver BI
- Strong T-SQL, MDX, Reporting Services and Scorecarding skills as well as BI Reporting development/deployment experience
