BUSINESS IMPROVEMENTS SPECIALIST - IMMEDIATE START - 3-6 MONTH CONTRACT

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced business improvements specialist within the utilties industry to join a well known construction and engineering company. We already have a number of initiatives we are working through, so this will require adopting a hands-on approach. You should be capable of generating improvement ideas and working towards developing and embedding them in to existing processes. As well as identifying further opportunities where improvements can be made. Ideally from an Operations background you should be comfortable with spending time engaging with teams from all levels from Operations to Senior Management. Adaptable to change and be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of Cabling, Overhead Lines and Offshore operations would be beneficial.

This role will require travel across the UK, predominantly based in Scotland.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and drive efficiencies within Operations
- Documenting and mapping processes in both 'current' and 'future' states
- Influencing at all levels to deliver the best for the business
- Ensuring that work is delivered to stakeholder expectations.
- Adopting a problem solving approach and drive to develop innovative business solutions.
- Manage own workload through effective planning and prioritisation.
- Promote different business improvement approaches, such as Lean through support and coaching
- Deliver training which is tailored to a specific audience within an internal group environment.
- Ensuring regular communication of project progress

SKILLS REQUIRED:

ESSENTIAL:

- Basic understanding of Lean/Continuous Improvement implementation and principles.
- Project and Programme management skills including time management
- Demonstrable stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationships skills
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Minimum level of IT skills required to perform the job
- Hold a valid driving licence
- Ability and willingness to gain a 6 Sigma Green Belt certification

DESIRABLE:

- Expertise in Change Management and communications planning
- Operational business analysis and cost reviews expertise
- Awareness of Lean implementation and principles.
- An awareness of the utilities industry.
