Business Development Manager - Telecoms

My client, a world leading Telecoms Company is currently looking for an Experienced Business Development Manager ideally with a Telecoms background to join their team.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Primary objective of the role is to develop new high value services business. This covers both the early development of opportunities from seeding ideas with the Account Team and Client, through the development of those ideas, the scoping of deliverable services solutions that meet Client needs and approved services margins, to the effective handover of the services solution to the Delivery team.

SOME OF THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working with Services Delivery management and the Account team to align to a common strategy for developing a services strategy with assigned Client(s)

Build and maintain key relationships within Client, Services Delivery and Account teams

Responsible for building deliverable services solutions and proactively handling these over to Delivery

Responsible for scoping accuracy and meeting margin targets

Ensuring deals are competitive and working with stakeholders to generate a viable solution where the traditional approach will not work

Develop opportunities within agreed margins and get approval on opportunities which require lower margins than the operating norm

Drive change from technology to outcome

Ensure there is an audit trail from requirements to proposed solution

Ensure that all documentation and reporting is up to date

Be the go to person for service program knowledge and assist Delivery and Sales teams to understand new service offerings.

BUSINESS IMPACT:

Help define services strategy for assigned Clients

Implement pre-sales aspects of services strategy with assigned Clients

Ensure service solutions are deliverable and positioned within an agreed margin range

Advise and mentor SDM and Account Teams on services positioning and value

Develop deliverable opportunities for the Delivery team

Build the Services pipeline for future delivery

AUTHORITY/DECISION MAKING:

Empowered to work autonomously on all aspects of the BDM role as defined above

Empowered to position new services, service offerings or ideas leading to new business with Clients and Account team.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

High quality and effective communications; written, verbal and presentation

Executive credibility

Leadership at all stages of stakeholder engagement and opportunity development

Knowledge of key architectures and service programs; ability to apply any or all as appropriate to a given situation

Service delivery background or knowledge essential.

BEHAVIOURS

Creative, innovative, strategic thinker, ability to think outside of the box'.

Able to quickly build and maintain relationships at the most senior levels.

Ability to lead direct and virtual teams with authority through challenging customer/internal climates.

Appetite to take on additional non-core' projects, ie not specifically day job focussed.

Vested interest in personal and team development evidenced through a consistent and focussed attitude to self/team improvement (formal and informal).
