Talent International are looking for a Business Development Manager for one of their top clients.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Account Manage for the clients account - Corporate services portfolio.

KEY FOCUS INCLUDES- Development of relationships with senior stakeholders, generation and management of ideas and propositions and the management of competitive bids from the initial qualification of opportunity, early client engagement, timely delivery of response through to contract closure and handover to delivery teams for implementation.

The role includes engagement with the clients key individuals, stakeholders and third parties to identify and develop innovative propositions that help the client achieve their strategic objectives.

Role Description

Development of long term and sustainable relationships with a variety of the clients and wider stakeholders

Ensure high quality sales and bid outputs are developed for each pursuit and competitive response, ensuring these are delivered with tight bid timescales

Create and develop in conjunction with corporate services portfolio director, an appropriate business development strategy and bid plan.

Mobilise and on-board sales and solution teams drawn from the relevant business manager.

Provide regular progress reports and executive briefings to the portfolios executive.

Ensure alignment with solutions that are being shaped and delivered through existing non-competitive mechanisms.

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES

Taking the role of the account manager on large, complex and strategically important opportunities.

The role typically requires significant engagement with the client and their clients, cross-lines-of-business and involve consortium partners as well as a number of major sub-contractors.

Development of proposition strategies bid/proposition plans and bid/proposition budgets.

DESIRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS

High level of proficiency with Microsoft office tool set required, particularly word, excel,Powerpoint and visio

BUSINESS SKILLS

At least 5 years demonstrable experience of working on large and complex bids as a member of the "core team" ( Account manager, Bid Manager, Solution owner, Commercial owner, sales lead) within a public sector environment.

Very strong understanding/experience of the key stages of the bid cycle/sales cycle including pipeline management.

Experience of managing bid/[project/portfolio teams where there are multiple projects and time line deadlines.

Strong organisational, facilitation and project management skills, high credible with the ability to influence both internally with colleagues, and externally with clients and suppliers.

Ability to persuade, influence and challenge in a constructive manner and identify appropriate solutions.
