Projektbeschreibung

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Kingston Hill Campus

Enterprise Support Department

Fixed Term (6 Jan 2014 start for six months in the first instance)

THE ROLE

Kingston University is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who will have direct, hands-on responsibility to stimulate and achieve growth in business, research, training and consultancy income.

Working closely with the Enterprise Support Department Head of Business Development, and Senior Faculty Staff, you will support the knowledge transfer and commercialisation aspirations and plans of the Faculty of Business and Law. You will be responsible for securing commercial income for knowledge transfer project ideas and proposals including multi-disciplinary research, consultancy and CPD initiatives and coordinating market campaigns to target prospective clients.

THE PERSON

You'll come to us with sound administrative and organisational skills as well as excellent communication and presentation skills. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding and ideally have network contacts in the sectors relevant to the Faculty's subject areas. This will be complemented with a successful history of identifying and securing contracts, research proposals and tenders, using your influence and contacts. You will be expected to manage your own workload, be a good team player, and develop effective working relationships with your academic colleagues as well as prospective clients. Above all, you'll relish the challenge of raising the profile of your Faculty and making Kingston University the partner of choice for businesses and other external organisations.

THE DEPARTMENTS

The Faculty of Business and Law combines the Business School and the Law School which both run some of the longest established accredited UK courses in these fields. As a result of our reputation for innovation in teaching and research excellence. Our partners and collaborations include large multinational corporations, and also small businesses, the not for profit sector (such as museums), nongovernmental organisations (including the OECD), United Nations bodies and governments throughout the world as well as at national and regional levels. In Enterprise Support we work closely with businesses, not-for-profit and public organisations to help the wider community tap into, and benefit from, ideas and expertise across the University.

Closing date: 10th November 2013.
