Business Data Analyst - Trade Repository - NYC

Main Function The main application the candidate will work on, reconciles trade and position information to the bank's operating ledgers (settlement systems) and provides this data to strategic downstream systems in Finance, Product Control, Risk, Front Office, Operations and Regulatory & Statutory reporting. It also provides information on reconciliation breaks. * The candidate will perform a business analysis role driving the requirements gathering phases of projects, liaising with business users to develop high quality business requirements * To understand by product line, the data flows and processes within above mentioned business areas through the Transaction Database application. * Expected to be part of a bank-wide initiative looking at all asset classes front to back. * Drive the requirements gathering phases of projects to ensure that high quality requirements are developed as per the published project plans * Document business requirements, evaluate alternative solutions and recommend the best designs for the business * Model investment banking products and processes in functional design documentation * Build Traceability Matrix that assists in writing system and user acceptance test plans. To verify the developed solution meets the agreed requirements * Develop requirements within a standard framework - using a structured methodology or approach Basic Qualifications: * 5+ years of experience in business / systems analysis * 4+ years of Investment Banking Experience * 5+ years of experience working in an IT team before either as a developer or a technical business analyst working closely with developer * Business knowledge to interact with the business and understand their issues. * Ability to write SQL * 4+ years of experience working on Finance systems * 4+years of experience with project development lifecycle. * 4+ years of experience using process and data modeling methodologies, e.g. UML * 5+ years of experience with MS Office products, e.g. Word, Excel
