BUSINESS ASSURANCE OFFICER

LOCATIONS: LEEDS

FIXED TERM CONTRACT - (31.12.2015)

SALARY: £23000

A prestigious FTSE 100 company is looking for a BUSINESS ASSURANCE OFFICER. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business in one of its most exciting and challenging areas.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide the Operation with confidence in processes by undertaking business assurance activities

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:- - Undertake assurance activity on the Operation and support functions to ensure compliance with Capita People processes and policies. This will include Performance Management, Absence management, Holidays, Starters & Leavers and Billing & Invoicing checks.
- Identify assurance risks across the site and report findings to the Risk Manager and Operational Management and where necessary recommend mitigating controls.
- Develop and maintain understanding of the Capita business and its processes to enable the maintenance of an up to date assessment of auditable risks and controls.
- Delivery of assurance reports, trend analysis, insight and recommendations to the Risk Manager for wider deployment.
- Conduct assurance reviews inline with internal audit best practice.
- Ensuring recommendations from risk assurance reviews are fit for purpose and are implemented in a timely manner.
- Propose the introduction of new standards and processes across the site based on learning from Risk Assurance Reviews.
- Aid Risk Manager in creating and maintaining regular reports that are fit for a variety of audiences including but not limited to the Head of Site and where applicable, the Client.
- To closely monitor risk and controls compliance performance and aid in seeking and implementing resolutions.
- Assist in producing and maintaining assurance Risk and Controls MI.
- Effectively manage workloads to agreed timescales and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

- Experience of working in a Risk capacity, ideally in Financial Services
- Be highly organised and able to manage own workload and where applicable, aid team members to meet stretching targets and strict deadlines
- To be aware of the sensitivity of information received/reviewed as part of the role and the need to protect it in conjunction with the Data Protection Act
- Ability to present data in a variety of accessible formats, to convey information to a diverse range of stakeholders
- Good knowledge and understanding of various stakeholder activities, eg MI, Quality and Review.
- Be experienced at working in a challenging and often pressured environment where fast paced change is a constant feature.
- Experience in preparing and delivering high level reports to a variety of audiences.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

An understanding of Capita processes is desirable but not essential

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

- Numeracy and advanced computer literacy (eg MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to analyse data, solve problems and report on findings confidently
- Have meticulous attention to detail
