Functional Business Architect required to work for a large Energy provider on a 12 month contract. This role will be based in Three Bridges, Crawley and the successful candidate will be expected to be on site 5 days per week. This is an immediate requirement.
The successful candidate will be expected to work in partnership with senior managers and other managers deploying expert business analysis skill, broad business knowledge and specialist expertise to ensure that the strategic solution provides the significant business benefit. They, along with our partners, are instrumental in shaping the structure of the business change impacts. This role will be focusing on billing and finance and in particular solutions around customers bills.
The successful candidate will provide strength in depth for the B2C Business architecture community and will be responsible for deriving solutions in partnership with third party resources, challenging them as and where required and referencing solutions against the benefits case. They, along with our partners, are instrumental in shaping the structure of the business change impacts.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The role-holder plays a key role in achieving business change by being an acknowledged business process area expert. They derive business process solutions to efficiently meet the requirements of B2C.
2. The role-holder develops business solutions through documenting and understanding the business process; determining and documenting the user requirements and developing the functional specification for specific business areas.
3. Reviewing third party solution designs, test strategies and business procedures to ensure consistency with the defined solution and delivery of the identified benefits.
4. Facilitating workshops with stakeholders, advising and influencing stakeholder and customers regarding process improvement
5. Identifying the risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies that affect the successful outcome of the programme.
6. Collaborating with management and other key stakeholders to capture, evaluate, challenge and prioritise business requirements.
7. Collaborating with Business Managers, and third parties to identify the best solution options and the structure by which they will be delivered.
8. Making sure that solutions developed align to strategic goals and objectives regarding products and services; partners and suppliers; organization; capabilities; and key business and IT initiatives.
9. Assessing the impact of strategic changes, including alterations to organisation structure, working conditions and practices.
10. Ensuring compliance with internal and external standards and requirements such as audit standards, data management standards, industry processes and legislation.
11. Presenting proposal material to executive project boards, key stakeholders and the programme team, including strategic partners and third party suppliers.
12. Liaising with other Functional Business Architects to ensure that cross-functional requirement specifications are compatible with overall business needs and works closely with IT to align functional solutions with business needs.
13. Supporting business acceptance of developed solutions, including process and system walk through and business acceptance testing.
14. Reporting progress to the Senior Functional Business Architecture on a regular basis.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Commercial
* Graduate or equivalent business career with business and industry acumen and recognition as a subject matter expert in chosen area of expertise.
* Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem solving environment, with attention to detail, a commitment to quality and the ability to think strategically
* Good foundation in business analysis skills using a variety of standard techniques.
* Experience of business process analysis and design techniques
* A good understanding of project life cycles and the ability to produce comprehensive, complete documentation without functional gaps.
* An understanding of SAP solutions would be beneficial
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and the energy industry would be desirable

Personal
* Demonstrate excellent communication, presentation and written skills, with relevant experience of dealing with senior executives, business managers and third parties at a strategic level.
* Good workshop facilitation and interview skills, including negotiation, influence, mediation and conflict management skills.
* Relationship builder who is able to listen, be attentive to detailed information and translate it into viable, pragmatic solutions.
* Good interpersonal skills, displaying confidence and professionalism
* Demonstrates organisational, multi tasking and time management skills.
* Ability to challenge business on current thinking
* Demonstrates sound judgement and business awareness.
