BUSINESS ARCHITECT

ACTIVITIES/TASKS:

- Lead and deliver the design work
- Ensure that the design of future state services is affordable by stakeholders and partners.
- Develop new models for delivering services based on Co-Operative principles.
- Design the routemap for getting from the current to new models.
- Describe the current and future state of services in terms of functions with their associated costs, roles, skills and headcount.
- Demonstrate by example, leadership

The expectation is that this work will be the foundation Business Architecture design work leading to an overall change project. The first major milestone at the end of September needs to support co-design workshops and conversations with senior stakeholders through October. It is envisaged that this role will be required throughout the Project Definition and initialisation stages which are likely to be targeted for completion in February 2014

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

- Extensive experience in public and private sector Business Architecture and Analyst roles
- Comprehensive understanding of the services provided within the delivery functions of Councils
- The ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies and cross-silo redundancies. Those issues may exist in role alignment, process gaps and overlaps, and business capability maturity gaps
- The ability to apply architectural principles, methods, and tools to business challenges.
- The ability to visualise and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture
- Experience developing and using these high-level models as required to collect, aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business
- Experience of modelling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques using recognised methodologies

The ability to act as liaison conveying information in suitably accurate models between the business and other Architects in Application/Solution roles
