Business Application System Developer

Seeking a Business Application System Developer who will be responsible for participating in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications. support various utility meter collection, service request and data management systems. The responsibilities of this position includes direct enduser support of these system during daytime hours and period on call rotation. The successful candidate will be able to respond to Service Tickets and work with applicable infrastructure staff to resolve issue and apply period break/fix maintenance. Since many of the applications are commercially Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products interacting with vendor support teams and help desk will be required. Specific tasks include supporting the testing and remediation of Window 7 noncompliant applications and Servers, product and/or infrastructure updates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
(1) Analyze business/technical and related issues to formulate and develop or purchase new and/or modified computer programs and systems.
(2) Revise existing programs, systems, and procedures and use appropriate tools to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion and storage.
(3) Reconcile user requirements with existing and/or projected computer capacity, capabilities and performance.
(4) Coordinate symbolic statements (process and data models) of problems into appropriate specifications for coding computer systems, identifying functions to be programmed, information processing techniques used, and data representation.
(5) Develop and may enter program code into computer system.
(6) Prepare documentation, and may conduct program tests and correct program errors. Analyze programming system's capabilities to resolve questions of program standards, output requirements, input data acquisition, and programming techniques and controls.
(7) Advise on new technologies, and estimate costs associated with data processing programs.
(8) Develop procedures and operating instructions.
(9) Use project management techniques to ensure on-time product delivery and to meet client goals.
(10) Anticipate organizational impacts of new or changing applications and factor this into project plans.
(11) Develop new technologies.
(12) Integrate diverse systems that execute on diverse platforms. Seamlessly integrate new technologies into in use existing technologies.

SKILLS:

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE/SKILLS TO BE CONSIDERED:

- Knowledge of the following Meter Reading Collection Systems: Itron based products (MV 90XI, MVRS, FCS).
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required. Equivalent work experience and technical training cannot be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Candidates must have at least 3 years experience to be considered.

THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE/SKILLS IS A PLUS/PREFERRED BUT IS NOT REQUIRED:

- Knowledge of the following Meter Reading Collection Systems:

(1) MS Access Database and forms Applications.
- (2) IBM Mainframe Cobol 0S 390.

(3) Primstone's PrimeRead System.
4) Clevest's Fieldnet Service Order and Meter Collection Systems.
