Business Analyst (Underwriting) Role Description

This role requires an individual with solid Business Analysis experience having worked on large scale and complex software implementation projects within the Lloyds Market with a strong knowledge of Underwriting and associated processes.

This role will work closely with business users to proactively elicit requirements and seek out improvements from a business and technology perspective.

This individual must be able to articulate the benefits Business Analysis can bring to an organisation with the ability to influence stakeholders including senior management.

The successful candidate will form part of the centralised Change & Delivery function, however this individual may be seconded to specific departments within the organisation for periods of time in order to obtain a deeper understanding of how the function operates on a daily basis, with the objective of proactively seeking out and recommending improvements.

* Play a key role in driving and promoting Business Analysis best practice across
* Solid experience of Business and Systems Analysis in the Insurance industry
* Proven ability to translate business requirements into innovative solutions
* Solid end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle experience

* Good understanding of technology
* Experience of 'hands-on' software development an advantage
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with all levels of staff

* Lloyd's Market Insurance knowledge
* Excellent understanding of Underwriting and associated processes

* Ability to cope with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
* Ability to facilitate relations between business groups and technology departments
* Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
* Strong influencing and negotiation skills
* Extensive experience in the insurance industry with an excellent knowledge of the Lloyd's Market, its regulatory requirements and the impact this may have on proposed solutions or business changes
