Business Analyst - SQL

Business Data Analyst required to work for a leading financial client.

This role is accountable for developing, modelling and maintaining strategic solutions for Management Information across their own client base

Accountable for project deliverables, ensuring adherence to relevant checks and controls

Evaluation, Design and Planning
*Create or support the creation of business requirements, goals and objectives of projects from inception to completion.
*Support the development of Solutions Design by challenging, evaluating and driving thinking across the wider team
*Identify opportunities for improvement/cost savings through optimising existing and shared capabilities and by driving behaviours within the business to 'reuse and recycle'
*Ensure adherence to governance and control standards, ensuring integrity is maintained throughout the project life cycle

Partnerships
*Develop a thorough understanding of own clients environment, business objectives and goals.
*Work closely with other team members and other areas to deliver MI that meets customer objectives.
*Build and nurture relationships to ensure all business, operational and IT change activity is assessed to ensure 'fit' and 'capability' within and across UK Retail Banking Business Intelligence
*By harnessing a shared culture, identify current operational gaps/hotspots and put in place solutions to resolve
*Ensure Key Stakeholder feedback is provided and acted upon

Leadership
*Exhibit Leadership by supporting and managing both the work and time of self and others
*The role holder will be required to plan and manage MI Deliverables ensuring that requests are prioritised and the correct level of resource is available to meet varying demands
*Job holder will be expected to lead in the development of more junior members of the team
Testing/Piloting
*Coordinate and perform necessary testing and validation. Involving end users and others within the UK Retail Bank Team as appropriate to ensure confidence in the outputs
*Train end users as required, these users will be at varying levels in the organisation, sometimes more senior than the role holder

Knowledge & Expertise
Essentials
*Knowledge of UK Retail Banking structure, SBUs and products
*Functional Analysis
*Experienced in standard tools & techniques in requirements definition
*Experienced in deployment of small-scale implementations
*Lead functional requirement quality reviews and walk-throughs with designers
*Awareness of design tools and methodologies
*Awareness of the evaluation of design and design effectiveness
