Business Analyst/Solutions Architect

As a member of the Information Management Section, take a leadership and governance position in information and knowledge management to meet the business requirements of the Department and the information needs of external stakeholders.

The Section develops and implements strategies, procedures and tools to maintain and promote best practice information management, including the management and administration of the enterprise metadata catalogues and data stores.

Develop the documentation required to analyse, recommend and plan for the implementation of a product catalogue system for the Department.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Excellent written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in technical documentation;
- Negotiation and liaison skills;
- Experience in conducting workshops and consultation with business users.
- Your ability to quickly understand and document complex business requirements, processes and technical design to support systems development.
- Proven ability to take responsibility for progressing own work and to deliver quality results against tight timeframes

DUTIES INCLUDE

- Consult, analyse, recommend and develop business requirements, user specifications, use cases, workflows, and other documentation to assess existing systems and design a new product catalogue system.
- Liaise with a variety of stakeholders, users, suppliers, and general staff to elicit requirements, promote cross-agency co-operation, and ensure the proposed new system is standards compliant and adequately meets the needs of all internal stakeholders
- Assess requirements against existing catalogues and systems, and solutions currently available within the Department as a whole.

Prepare all technical documentation required to bring the project to implementation stage, eg Business Case, Solution (Architecture) Design, Requirements Specification and Procurement Strategy/Implementation Plan.

Along with knowledge of OGC/ISO Standards, an understanding of geospatial metadata standards will be well received.
