BUSINESS ANALYST/RISK

Our client in the insurance industry is looking to onboard a Business Analyst/Risk. Business Analysts/Risk serve business units in analysing requests for change and designing business processes. On larger projects they manage requirements through to delivery; on smaller projects they may also be called upon to manage execution of delivery activities (project management). The position is Embedded in a network of business analysts covering primarily Reinsurance risk analytics functions (actuarial, cat modelling, risk management) and offices worldwide. Communication and coordination with other business analysts, project managers and IT technicians is required to ensure comprehensive service delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan business analysis approach, including stakeholder and communications management

Work with business to define needs, capability gaps and determine solution options by modelling processes and business scenarios, eliciting, defining and documenting requirements
-

Assess operational impacts and develop business cases
-

Manage elicited requirements, including requirements breakdown and traceability
-

Manage execution on smaller projects (project management role)
-

Perform miscellaneous job related duties assigned
-

Travel as required

REQUIREMENTS:

-

5+ years of hands-on, client-facing experience as a Business Analyst
-

3+years of experience in Financial Services, working with Actuaries and Risk Managers
-

Solid grasp of Business Analysis methodologies as codified in the IIBA's Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) or similar

Experience with BPMN 2.0, RUP and OOA techniques

Strong relationship and team building, collaboration and facilitation skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
-

Ability to set and meet personal and team deadlines
-

Continuously seeks to expand and share knowledge and experience

PREFERRED:

-

CCBA or CBAP certification
-

Experience of working with Reinsurance actuaries and risk managers

Project management experience (CAPM or PMP an asset)

Knowledge of Agile Requirements Management

Working knowledge of SQL and .NET business architectures
