ROLE - Business Analyst

DURATION - 3 months

LOCATION - London/Halifax

PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAMME

The Programme will focus on business enablement activity required to support IT in a Technology Simplification Programme which will enable the de-commissioning of ageing and complex systems.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Programme/Project Set Up and Closure:

- Feeds into business study/programme proposals and business cases, ensuring alignment with business strategy; agreement of project benefits; and how these will be measured and tracked post implementation.

Works with the business area to ensure an effective approach to business implementation, handover, and acceptance of the change.

Governance and Reporting:

-

Works closely with the Programme Leads to provide regular status reporting appropriately to different stakeholders and to agreed standards and recommend options for contingency plans.

Project Delivery:

-

Defines and implements a detailed delivery approach for each stage of the project life cycle, obtains acceptance and buy-in to the approach from all team members, and produces and owns all project management deliverables, using established project methodologies, to the right level of quality.

Planning and Finance:

-

Produces and owns the project plan. Controls, manages and monitors project timescales and budgets, reporting variances, escalating as appropriate to overcome delays, difficulties or cost over-runs, and re-forecasting where necessary.

Resource Management:

-

Tracks resource requirements (including roles and responsibilities), budget and FTE profile for areas of responsibility.

Stakeholder Management:

-

Identifies key project stakeholders and develops an appropriate stakeholder communication plan.
-

Engages with a diverse group of stakeholders to influence direction of projects to meet the project milestones. Typically up to and including Grade G level.

People and Self Development:

-

Where appropriate, manages, motivates, develops and coaches assigned team members to create a high performing team.

Risk:

-

Continuously monitors projects for risk issues and regulatory compliance and takes appropriate steps to mitigate.

CORE SKILLS

-

Deep sector knowledge of Retail Banking,
-

Experience of delivering migrations from Legacy systems
-

Knowledge of secured loans Legacy system and the payment mechanisms for accounts on those systems
-

Strong stakeholder management, with ability to 'work through others' and drive external teams to deliver
-

Experience of working with 3rd party large software providers
-

Strong finance and technical background
-

Strong stakeholder management, with ability to 'work through others' and drive external teams to deliver

Experienced at managing external 3rd parties
-

Willingness to work in multiple locations and to work to tight deadlines

Preferably Prince 2 qualified, or equivalent

Requirements Elicitation:

-

Leads designs and facilitates business engagements to establish scope, business needs, project objectives, outcomes and expectations on business processes.

Requirements Development:

-

Works with business analysis team to ensure that quality business requirements are produced, accepted and approved by the key stakeholder and business solution designs can deliver effectively.

Requirements Management:

-

Oversees end to end traceability against quality business requirements using appropriate tools and templates.

Solution Assessment & Validation:

-

Engages with key stakeholders to influence the solution design to meet business goals, scope and strategy requirements. Provides input into the identification and delivery of project benefits, traceability of requirements and impact of solutions. Develops cross business and service user communications, acceptance test plans and supports testing and implementation.
