BUSINESS ANALYST (PRODUCT ACCOUNTING)

A Business Analyst (Product Accounting) is urgently required for a long-term, lucrative project with a market leading Financial Services client based in Amsterdam.

The Business Analyst (Product Accounting) will work in the Product Accounting team and act as an intermediary between Finance end-users, Finance IT etc. The Business Analyst (Product Accounting) will collect and analyse requirements, ensure that the requirements are complete, consistent and of the required quality, and translate these requirements properly into functional designs as well as reviewing technical designs and adjust the functional designs accordingly.

The Business Analyst (Product Accounting) will IDEALLY HAVE 65%+ of the following skills and experience:

- Strong experience of working in a Finance environment including experience in hands on coordinating roles like team-lead, coordinator, product-owner, project manager, business analyst, work package owner
- Data analysis, strong general analytical skills, knowledge of and interest in state of the art methods and technics.
- Knowledge of Product Accounting concepts
- Knowledge and experience of working with SQL is a must
- Knowledge and experience with a rule engine in general is a plus, but knowledge of Microgen Aptitude and/or Fusion Accounting Hub is a definite plus
- Knowledge on Financial Markets front and Back Office systems is a definite plus
- Able to quickly absorb complex information
- Proactive approach, customer focus and result driven
- Team worker but also capable of working independently
- Fluent English speaker
- Likes to work in small teams and in a dynamic international environment.

The Business Analyst (Product Accounting) will:

- Analyse the required input, output and throughput information within Finance processes as well as investigating the quality and consistency of data and providing improvements.
- Lead process improvement initiatives
- Support the decision-making process by providing alternative designs including business impact assessment
- Provide baseline support as well as (daily) checks on timeliness, correctness and completeness of EOD processing, including rules engine, reconciliations and product ledger EOD processing
- Deliver first line and/or second line support to our Finance end-users with regards to financial/product accounting, reporting and reconciliations
- Create ad hoc data extracts using SQL for end-user reporting in an international oriented environment
- Maintain supported applications; like rules engine, product ledger and cash reconciliation application
- Participate in projects by translating user requirements into a functional design, rules writing, supporting technical development, testing, conversion and implementation of new/changed applications (including those in the Front Office and Back Office domain)
- Interact with IT development department for technical aspects of development activities
- Support Finance COO end-users with user acceptance tests
- Safeguard the design of the application model and data model. This includes adherence to and improvement of the architecture (principles), definitions and logical data model
