Business Analyst - OTC Derivatives + Reform - Melbourne CBD

Our client is a leading financial services organisation that provides a wide and diverse offering in the Australian market. They have a highly regarded name based on their current work, professional culture and progressive growth strategies. Due to an ever increasing project pipeline they are looking for a technical business analyst with extensive trading experience and a good grasp of regulatory reform

Following the introduction of the Dodd Frank legislation which increases government oversight of derivatives trading by Financial Institutions, an range of complex requirements have hit the OTC Derivatives IT team of my client which has resulted in the initiation of numerous greenfield projects to ensure the existing systems are compliant with this regulatory reform.

The role is heavily delivery focused; working with internal stakeholders, Architects and Java Software Engineers. You will facilitate the ongoing development of trading systems and related compliance in the OTC Derivatives Trading space. Working in an Agile environment, you will utilize your extensive financial product knowledge and understanding of front to back trading environments from execution to settlements. You will be expected to produce highly technical documentation and integration requirements between a multitude of trade storage systems and downstream processing situations.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

- 4+ years' experience as business analyst in trading environment
- Experience with brokerage platforms ION, Reuters, Bloomberg
- Understanding of Regulatory Reform (Dodd Frank/Sarbanes Oxley/Basel III)
- Intense understanding of the full trade life cycle
- Tech - Unix, SQL, Middleware knowledge
- General infrastructure and networking
- Experience dealing with vendors
- FIX trading connectivity Knowledge
- Knowledge of XML structure
- Trade Storage Systems experience nice to have (Murex, wallstreet)
- UAT experience
