BUSINESS ANALYST - LIFE&PENSION -DUBLIN CITY CENTRE

CLIENT:

Our client a leading Life & Pension organisation requires Business Analyst with 3-5 years Life & Penisons background for role in Dublin City Centre. The role is for initial 6 contract.

ROLE:

The Business Analyst is the link between the Business and IT. They represent the Business and are responsible for ensuring that the business requirements, within the scope of the project brief, are met.

A Business analyst may work independently, reporting to a project manager, on small/medium sized projects with appropriate supervision from the Project Manager. Alternatively, they may work with a team of BAs on Medium/Large, more complex projects, with a project reporting line to a Lead BA.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

PROJECT TASKS

- Planning
- Assist project manager in identifying business analysis tasks at the planning stage of a project or Deliver a plan for the BA tasks on the project, monitor, track & report progress.
- Advise the Project Manager of any exception planning necessary.
- Ensure that all deliverables comply with Department Standards. (Development processes, reviews, sign off).

ANALYSIS

- Understand & challenge the Business requirements, implications and restraints of each allocated project.
- Gather, analyse data, distil and document to produce business requirement specifications, with appropriate sign off.
- Undertake impact analysis and Cost/Benefit analysis as required.

TESTING

- Provide a clear understanding of the test process & coverage for the business.
- Identify necessary resources for testing & co ordinate logistics where appropriate.
- Designing comprehensive, cost effective user acceptance test plan in line with strategy document
- Execute tests as required.

IMPLEMENTATION

- Ensure smooth implementation into business areas and provide post implementation support.
- Prepare/present training material where required.

ISSUES

- Monitor team support and team co-hesion exists.
- Sharing knowledge.
- Sharing problem resolution.
- Taking responsibility for training new team members.
- Contributing to team meetings.
- Participating and/or volunteering for any ad hoc team tasks.
- Seek continual way to improve efficiency within the Department.

EXPERIENCE:

- Comprehensive Business Analysis skills with at least 3 years Business Analysis experience.
- Strong Analytical ability (numeric and verbal reasoning).
- A proven ability to deliver results.
- Thorough understanding of project life cycles & business development process, ie requirements specification, planning & testing etc.
- Knowledge of Life assurance processing and products.
- Knowledge of Datamodelling, process mapping etc.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications, especially MS Project & Access.
- SQL-Good SQLquery skills for database data mining to support analysis.
- Excellent communication influencing and negotiation skills, coupled with ability to build relationships
- Competent at knowledge management.
- High capacity to learn and the ability to think laterally and strategically.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Risk and Controls management.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
