Business Analyst Intern Job

BUSINESS ANALYST INTERN needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in NEW YORK, NY.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Manages the elicitation and management of requirements across the system development life cycle.
- Provides guidance to new clients and existing customers in the preparation of the requirement documents to ensure that the characteristics of the functionality is well defined, clear and understood by customers as well as the internal organization.
- Manages on going contractual relationships and the operational delivery of services to clients for an account or group of accounts.
- Serves as the primary point of contact with clients and ensures client satisfaction.
- Builds and maintains strong client relationships and provides day to day client support.
- Under supervision, assists business owners and stakeholders in defining business and system requirements.
- Assists in the writing of the detailed functional specifications for others.
- Occasionally responds to basic, unresolved production support issues and participates in analysis and resolution on behalf of the business, escalating more complex issues to senior colleagues.
- Under supervision designs solutions for clients ensuring that SLA's (service level agreements) and KPI's (key performance indicators) are met.
- Communicates client requirements to operational teams and subcontractors.
- Create executive level preparatory documents utilizing both internal and external database sources.
- Update and maintain account and contact information in our CRM system
- Respond to high level research requests relating to trading analysis
- Experience with FactSet or Bloomberg is suggested
- Analytical Thinking: Collects basic information needed to analyze a problem, situation or issue.
- Performs routine or basic data analysis, following the correct steps and using the appropriate tools, seeking guidance when necessary.
- Develops an understanding of how to analyze data and identify the implications of various courses of action.
- Application Development/Programming: Gains familiarity with available software development tools and basic design requirements.
- Business Partnering: Demonstrates a basic understanding of the standard processes, objectives, and challenges within assigned customer accounts. Demonstrates basic understanding of customers typical processes and activities, and resulting business needs. Demonstrates basic understanding of the rules, regulations and time frames of the business, as well as the impact IT changes have on end users.
- Project Management: Tracks and monitors simple projects; adheres to project deadlines and alerts management of any barriers to successful project completion. Assists with research and provides input into project plans and milestones. Develops timing estimates for basic projects based on limited understanding of customers' business needs and time constraints.
- Requirements Analysis: Demonstrates understanding of simple customer business requirements and works with others to provide straightforward solutions.
- Technical Advising/Consulting: Listens actively and questions/clarifies information to ensure understanding of customer needs. Promotes the organizations current offerings to customers. Develops ability to effectively communicate customer requirements and identify technical issues.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Degree qualified in Business/Finance or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience Required: Zero to two (0-2) years.
- Specified Core Skillsanalyzes information and standard practices to make judgments.
