BUSINESS ANALYST (INSURANCE INDUSTRY)
Apps IT are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to take on a 6 month contract based in Dublin. It would be a big bonus to have experience working withing the insurance industry
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determine the needs of the business and define the scope and the requirements of the project.
- Use initiative to build understanding of the current processes and independently explore feasibility and impact of potential solutions.
- Collaborate with IT resources and the project stakeholders on finding the optimal solution.
- Present and describe the IT supported changes in detail in a Functional Specification.
- Actively seek feedback of the Functional Specification from stakeholders and ensure the agreed solution meets requirements and remains feasible.
- Support the development and test teams and ensure there is clear understanding of the changes required.
- Communicate with stakeholders to manage change and expectations. Validate the reason for late changes and follow change management procedures.
- Collaborate with IT and Business during implementation to ensure a smooth transition to the new process. Prepare user release documents, and for large projects, prepare a cut over plan.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a Business Process Improvement/Business Analyst role
- Strong documentation skills, in particular writing detailed Functional Specification documents that can be understood by the business audience and can support strong technical design
- Experience of reviewing Functional Specification Documents produced by peers (Peer Review)
- Has worked on both large scale and smaller projects and been responsible for defining and designing business solutions
- Managing late changes and following change management procedures
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office ( Excel, Word)
- Knowledge of business process flow notation
- Experience of User Interface design
- Experience of presenting solutions to end-users and senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of the insurance industry would be an advantage
